TAG Program

The Colby RC Flyers members are eager to share with you their common interest and enthusiasm in their RC aviation hobby.

Colby RC Flyers has just implemented a new program to assist it's newest members with their fight training AND for ANYONE wishing to experience hands-on RC aviation through regularly scheduled and structured flight training sessions.  We'd like to refer to these sessions as "TAG" times (Takeoff And Grow - Takeoff And Go - Takeoff And Grin).

Initially and until the evening daylight get shorter, the sessions will be held every Tuesday evening from roughly 6pm to dusk at the Club's flying field.
The first session will be THIS COMING TUESDAY EVENING, JULY 17TH.
The Club's field is located 7 miles north on highway 25 from the intersection of Hwy 24/Hwy 25 in Colby, or 5 miles south on highway 25 from the Thomas/Rawlins County line (Look for the sign by the highway and the windsock and structures just 1/8th mile east of highway 25).

The Club Members will make every effort possible to be at the field by 6pm or as soon as possible to assist pilot trainees and those wishing to experience a hands-on flight.

CLUB MEMBER/PILOT TRAINEES: Charge your batteries and bring your stuff and you will be able to take advantage of guidance and assistance from an Instructor and experienced Club Members during these TAG times with the following:
- Preflight checks and preparation of your Airframe, Engine, Fuel System, Radio System and Support equipment and by assisting you with Control Linkage and Control Surface adjustments and Radio Range checks of your equipment.
- Flight training using the "Buddy Box" method to progress you through the necessary steps of training so that you will be prepared for your much anticipated solo flight and your continued enjoyment of your hobby.

ANYONE WANTING TO TRY CRUISING AROUND: You can experience "stick time" to TAG with the assistance of a Club member using the Club's gas powered trainer plane and buddy box radio system.  All that you have to bring is your enthusiasm.  Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian
